MindMaze teams up with Formula 1’s Daniel Ricciardo to promote motorsports safety through innovative brain technology
LONDON, October 25, 2019 – MindMaze, a brain technology company, today announces Renault F1 Team driver Daniel Ricciardo as a global brand ambassador to advocate for safety in motorsport. This partnership enables MindMaze to work with Ricciardo to develop brain technology for driver performance tracking and emergency medical response to serious brain injuries.
MindMaze was founded in 2012 to create digital therapies for neuro-restoration. More recently, the company has developed new immersive digital therapies and brain chip technology that have major applications in sports, human performance, transport, security and healthcare.
Daniel Ricciardo is a 29-year old, Australian-born Formula 1 driver, now racing for the Renault F1 Team after an accomplished eight-year start to his career racing for Scuderia Torro Rosso and Red Bull Racing. Widely considered the most charismatic driver in Formula 1, boosted by his popular alter-ego, the Honey Badger, Daniel has a remarkable list of achievements, the pinnacle being winning the iconic Monaco Grand Prix in 2018.
“The reality is that we are never too far away from danger in motorsports,” said Daniel Ricciardo.
“With MindMaze’s monitoring technology, race teams and medics will be able to better understand driver conditions in real-time. It is also exciting to think this technology can help track and optimise driver performance.”
Dr Tej Tadi, leading neuroscientist and founder of MindMaze, commenting on the partnership said:
“We are delighted to have Daniel Ricciardo as one of our global ambassadors. At MindMaze, we have been enhancing the quality of life of of thousands of patients with various brain disorders and also helping athletes with monitoring movement”.
“With Daniel, we hope to accelerate our efforts on using advanced technology for driver safety and performance management. By tracking bio-signals we will get a better insight into drivers and the race crew in real-time, plus give medical teams critical data on driver wellbeing in the event of a concussion or serious brain impact.”
Earlier this year, MindMaze also announced a separate partnership with McLaren Racing to collaboratively design and develop ‘MindDrive,’ the next generation of safety and performance platforms tailored for motorsport. The technology aims to enable McLaren Racing to gather data and insight on overall driver safety and performance.
